Pods, Packs, Powder, Liquid – Which One Do You Choose?

Choosing the best laundry detergent for your washing machine and your needs can be a confusing task. With all the powders, packs, pods and liquids on the market, how do you determine which one would be the best? While all detergents are designed to help clean your laundry, there are some differences, and it does matter which laundry detergent you buy.

1. Who doesn't love a nice scent? Watch out, though: if your skin is sensitive, a detergent with fragrance will irritate it. Fragrances are common skin allergens, and it even goes for some natural cleaning ingredients, like citrus and lavender! Fabric softeners are also full of fragrances, so people with sensitive skin should avoid not just detergents with fragrances, but fabric softeners, too. Here's a pro tip: if your skin is sensitive, don't pack the washing machine too full because the clothes won't rinse properly, and rinse your laundry twice to remove all detergent residue.

2. Stains! In some cases, it doesn't matter much: most detergents remove stains to a point, and a lot of people don't stain their clothes severely on regular basis. However, if you have young children, or if your job or a hobby often turns your clothes into a stained mess, Tide in any form will do a great job.

3. High-Efficiency detergents: they not only work, they're a necessity if you have a high-efficiency washer, like one of Haier's washers or combos. If you use a normal detergent in a high-efficiency washer, it could produce too much suds, possibly leave residue on your clothes, or even flood the machine. And if you're in doubt? Keep in mind that a high-efficiency detergent will work well in any machine, but a normal one won't. Not all laundry detergents are created equal, so choose carefully!
