HAIER UNVEILS BROAD PORTFOLIO OF WIRELESS MEDIA PRODUCTS AT 2007 CTIA WIRELESS SHOW
March 27th, 2007
New York, NY, March 27th, 2007 – Haier introduced today over a dozen new wireless media devices at the 2007 CTIA Wireless show in Orlando, Florida, including MP3 and MP4 candy bar and clamshell cell phones, as well as their new Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Portable Media Player (PMP). Haier will be demonstrating the new Elegance™ model, the world’s smallest MP3 cell phone, as well as a new model called the Sterling™. The Sterling™ features a megapixel camera, MP3, MP4, and a browser in a distinctive and luxurious form factor. Additional multimedia handsets to be introduced at the show include the E30, V60, and A7. Haier is showcasing its PMP, Elegance™, Sterling™, the A8, and its other new wirelessly-enabled media products at the Haier Booth #1445 at CTIA. The company announced at CES in January a partnership with Tegic Communications, an AOL company, to deploy its code-named ‘SmartScreens Media’ technology across a broad product line of Haier wireless devices. Haier is demonstrating the full consumer experience of the first product from that relationship, a wireless PMP. Its features include: • Wireless Streaming: Stream music, video, podcasts, and Internet radio over a Wi-Fi connection. • Wireless Download: Download and store music, video, and podcasts from a content provider’s service over a Wi-Fi connection. No PC necessary. • Wireless Listening: Supports Bluetooth headsets for wire-free convenience of audio playback. • Easy, Local Content Management: Manage playlists (create, add, delete) directly on the device. No PC necessary. “These new products demonstrate Haier’s continued momentum in emerging as a global brand and market leader in the convergent consumer electronics and mobile device markets,” said Michael Jemal, President and CEO of Haier America.
