Haier’s Clean Start Project Wins Gold Remi at 45th WorldFest-Houston Intl Film Festival

 -- Video Encourages Idea That Social Change Starts on the Individual Level --

 New York, NY, May 8, 2012 – The Clean Start Project began in 2011 with an inspiring video that centers on the issue of homelessness, and encourages people to brainstorm ways to engage with their communities. The video, created by Los Angeles based 3 Ring Circus, received a Gold Remi at the 45th WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival last month.

“The concept was truly to try to show people the importance of the little things in our daily lives and just how much one act of kindness can really mean,” said Richard Block, Vice President of Branding & Creative for Haier America. “We are so pleased with this recognition for the Clean Start Project video and that our message was delivered.”

The Clean Start Project encourages people to think about what they can do in the service of others. The video was the centerpiece of a social media campaign created by Haier through Smarterlifebetterplanet.com which focuses on creating positive and forward-thinking discussion around topics ranging from environmental awareness and work-life balance to our children’s education.

WorldFest was founded 50 years ago as Cinema Arts, an International Film Society in August, 1961.
