Rated 3 out of 5 by wazy262 If you don't live in a studio apartment it could work very well .. I just learned this .. I have a studio and the single pipe design causes to much make up air for the place.. IT goes negative. The unit needs to have air to send outside ! So it takes air from inside an sends it out.. OK .. no Real Big Deal .. But If there is a Conversion kit to make it a 2 pipe system then Great.. So now instead I have to keep my bathroom Door closed so Warm air cant get in ,, Since there's no Damper on it.. Just make sure You have plenty of air volume .. So it doesn't need make up air.. Remember !! It takes inside Air To Remove the Heat.. Best bet is to Buy a 2 pipe unit....Didn't know they made them though .. July 16, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Tasalloti Keeps popping the fuse box I have had this unit for 3 years and it worked fine for the first year but for the last year it pops the fuse on the specified 15 AMP/120 Volt line. So disappointed with this purchase. This was a great unit for the first year until the warranty ran out. July 8, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by CantStandTheHeat Great portal AC/Heat/Cooling, but I would give the unit 5 stars if the installation kits can do its job properly. I have the unit for more than 3 year now. The only problem of the installation kit is the screws are not design to be stick on the piece of hard plastic. Another problem is the connection hose to the hole for air exit the room often falls off, so most of the time it doesn't stay connected I have to use glue to permanently have it to stay connected. Also, the hard plastic piece for the window is easily broken if you bend it or did not pay attention when remove it. There is also the spaces between the window and connected piece where I believe the flies can enter the room; because of that I have to put tapes to cover the open spaces. July 3, 2013
